随着改革开放的不断深入, 迈向21世纪的中国正在发生巨大变化。经济体制的转轨、产业结构的调整、分配模式的改变以及多种经济形式的形成与发展,造成了大量社会资源的重新分配与社会资源分配体系的重组。这种社会资源的占有分配以及分配关系的变动,不仅引发了社会成员间原有利益格局的重大变革,而且导致了整个经济社会结构的深刻变迁。要揭示和把握这一变迁过程及其发展趋势,从人们的职业评价与择业取向着手无疑是最好的切入点。

The paper reports ratings of occupational prestige and inclinations of choosing occupation by urban residents in 63 cities of China .Using a representative sample (N =2599) aged above 16 and comparing w ith several other researches, the author found that ratings of occupational prestige and inclinations of choosing occupation by urban residents reflected the deeply changing process of social structure in China .The change is going on alo ng two axes . One is the axis of marketization :on the one hand , people like occupations of “ti zhi w ai”(informality)more and mo re ;on the other hand , occupations of pow er sections are still looked upon w ith favor by a lot of people .The o ther is the axis of industrial structure , occupations co ntacting w ith new knowledge or new technology have begun to lead the new trend of occupational change and social mobility of China.Finally , a series of predictive equations are constructed to estimate prestige scores fo r all occupatio ns in urban China.
