Community Issue :Change of urban community in China' s social transition

本文围绕社会学理论中城市社区消失、继存和解放的学术论题,使用广州市三个不同类型社区的问卷资料,通过量化研究讨论了社会转型期中国城市社区形态的转变。分析结果指出,转型期中国城市社区的特征是:随着城市化程度和人口流动性的提高,居民的社会支持网逐渐从社区内转移到社区外,导致了居民的社区认同和社区参与减弱,即是说,由居民社会关系构成的自然社区向国家划分的行政社区以外扩散。这个研究结论显示,现行以"属地管理"为基础的社区建设模式能够达到的基层整合效果将越来越减弱。

This paper discusses the community issues — community lost , saved, or liberated — of urban sociology in China' s social transition.The quantitative analysis is based on the data collected in three communities in Guangzhou city , which proves that the social support network of urban residents has diffused gradually out of the community in which they are living , and it causes the weakness of resident' s community identity and participation.In other words, the community as personal network has diffused out of the community as an administrative region of the state .This implies that the role of

contemporary community building would be weaker in the integration of grassroots society in China .
