This paper shows how Max Weber explored and constructed economic sociology in his whole academic careers .Weber' s approach to economic sociology is divided into three periods in this paper .Weber' s early approach shows that he criticized the internal limits of neoclassical economic theory proceed from investigated his native development of capitalism.In the middle stage , Weber attempted to establish a new direction of analyzing “social-economic phenomena , ”namely , “social economics, ”and also gave some research methods for it by his methodology and protestant ethic research . During the last decade of his life , Weber tried to develop a new way of analyzing social-economic phenomena and laid a solid theoretical foundation for “economic sociology , ” which he termed “interpretive sociology .” Finally , as a brief summary , this paper draws some ideas, which help to guide China and world economic sociology to a new development from Weber' s approaches and thoughts .
